The industrial wastewater treatment plant project for APU JSC in Ulaanbaatar has reached another important milestone. We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the manufacturing process of the reverse osmosis (RO) system, one of the key technological components of the facility.
The reverse osmosis (RO) system is an advanced membrane treatment technology in which pre-treated wastewater is pressurized and passed through semi-permeable membranes. This process effectively removes most dissolved salts, heavy metals, organic compounds, micropollutants, and other contaminants that are difficult to eliminate using conventional biological and mechanical treatment processes.
Reverse osmosis technology is applied wherever a very high level of wastewater treatment is required, where water reuse in industrial processes is planned, or where strict environmental discharge standards must be met.
The key benefits of the RO system include:
- high removal efficiency for contaminants,
- recovery and reuse of process water,
- reduced freshwater consumption,
- optimization of water and wastewater treatment costs,
- improved environmental performance of the facility.
The completion of the RO system manufacturing marks another significant milestone in the implementation of the APU JSC project and brings the investment one step closer to the commissioning phase.
The system is scheduled to be commissioned in November 2026.
