From Local Beginnings to International Projects
The history of Smart Waste Technologies is a story of development that, for over four decades, has been built on the knowledge, experience, and commitment of people working in th e environmental protection industry. Our beginnings date back to 1994, when a consulting company specialising in environmental protection was established in Piła, Poland. Smart Waste Technologies continues the activity of EKOLOG, drawing on its more than 40 years of expertise and experience gained through the delivery of water, wastewater, and waste management projects.
From Piła city to Domestic and International Markets
For many years, we developed our business by delivering projects for clients across Poland. Over time, the scale of our undertakings grew, and the experience gained enabled us to take on increasingly complex technological and organisational challenges. Today, Smart Waste Technologies delivers projects not only on the domestic market but also internationally. Our projects are currently being implemented, among others, in Mongolia, and our technologies operate in many countries across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The Development of Technology and Expertise
The environmental protection industry has undergone a major transformation over the past decades. Alongside changing environmental requirements, the development of automation, digitalisation, and modern wastewater treatment methods, our company’s competencies have also evolved. From simpler technological solutions used at the beginning of our activity, we have moved to the implementation of advanced projects including automation and control systems, sludge and biogas management, membrane technologies, reverse osmosis, and comprehensive wastewater treatment plants for both municipal and industrial sectors.
Company Growth Means People Growth
Behind every completed project stand people. Smart Waste Technologies has grown from a small, several-person team into an international organisation. Our team includes individuals who have been associated with the company and the environmental engineering sector for over a dozen or even several dozen years. Many employees have spent a significant part of their professional careers within our structures, contributing to the company’s development from its local beginnings to its current international scale. Their knowledge, experience, and commitment have built the foundation of an organisation that today delivers projects of both national and international importance. A key value is also the transfer of this knowledge to new generations of engineers, technologists, designers, and managers.

Looking at the history of Smart Waste Technologies, we see not only organisational growth, new technologies, and completed investments. We see hundreds of delivered projects, achieved business goals, and a real contribution to the development of environmental infrastructure in Poland and abroad. Above all, however, we see the people who have shaped this history over the years. It is thanks to their work, knowledge, and commitment that we can continue to develop new projects, take on new challenges, and look to the future with confidence.
