Visit and Training for a Mongolian Delegation in Poland

Smart Waste Technologies is currently delivering four contracts covering the design, construction, supply, installation of process equipment, commissioning, and one-year operational supervision of Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants for four cities in Mongolia: Bayan-Ulgii, Uvs, Zavkhan, and Choir.

From 2 to 21 March 2025, we hosted a delegation of representatives from municipal utility companies for whom these treatment plants are being built. The purpose of the visit was to provide both theoretical and practical training on equipment operation, held at reference facilities in Poland.

The 17-member delegation included future operators as well as staff responsible for the operation of the facilities, which are scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2025. The training and practical sessions took place at the premises of manufacturers of key technological equipment to be installed at the new treatment plants. Part of the programme was organised at the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant in Trzcianka (Greater Poland Voivodeship), where the local team presented the daily operational routines and the challenges faced by facility operators. Participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with equipment in live operation, exchange experiences with practitioners, and ask questions regarding facility operation and maintenance. The training concluded with a summary session aimed at consolidating the acquired knowledge. Each participant received a certificate confirming the scope and number of training hours completed.

As part of the visit programme, the delegation also visited the city of Wałcz, where they had the opportunity to learn about local municipal solutions and meet with the Mayor, Mr Maciej Żebrowski. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss best practices in municipal infrastructure management.

The visit programme also included cultural and team-building activities, such as shared dinners during which participants exchanged not only professional insights but also information about culture, history, and everyday life. Sightseeing trips were organised to showcase local architecture and provide the delegation with a deeper understanding of our country’s cultural heritage.

The visit of the Mongolian delegation was a key element in the execution of Smart Waste Technologies’ contracts, enabling future operators to gain practical skills before the facilities are commissioned. The meetings and training sessions in Poland provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, as well as to build lasting relationships between partners from both countries.

We would like to once again thank the entire ZIK Trzcianka team, led by President Marek Kupś, for their warm hospitality and the professional organisation of the presentations for the Mongolian delegation of operators. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the Mayor of Wałcz, Mr Maciej Żebrowski, for the warm welcome extended to the delegation.
